i don’t suppose you keep up on Chinese pop music, but she retired from the business, and unlike Celene Dion, I don’t expect her to be making a comeback in Vegas. I occasionally think about this when i realize how much of a black whole there is for interesting talent among Chinese female pop singers. They’re more or less cookie cutter forms, and anyone who can sing to a Jay Zhou style tune is bound to make it these days. Not to say I dislike Jay Zhou, I like him, but I’d rather a little variation in my music. Karen Mok has been the other mainstay of Chinese women pop singers, and she is excellent as well, but there is something i love a whole lot more about Wang Fei. I’ll leave you with a sad music video to hopefully enjoy as well.
