bittersweet victory

Of late I’ve had a running competition over the PopCap game Bejewelled 2 with Xiang. It’s been a good run with emails back and forth one-upping each other’s scores.

This is remniscent of a challenge back in Hampshire days between Oogie-doo and myself. The argument was that kindness could win over anyone, or at least conquer my stubbornness. I dug up every insult I could find, while Doug was an absolute sweetheart. It was a smug morning in SAGA when I won.

Well, I won yesterday after besting the high score by 220,000 or so points. In the same vein of the insult challenge, while I’m pleased to have won, the play was far more interesting than the conquest, and I’ll miss it.
