New York’s High Line

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2004

In my wanderings and readings, sometimes I find things that really show insight into a place and a time. These are the kinds of things that manage to open my eyes and inspire me.

Spring is a thing of wonder, and usually filled with exploring, and I truly enjoyed kottke.org’s take on The High Line. Though the pics are big (so you’ve been warned), they definitely deserve a good browse. From a personal community-art perspective, I really like the piece featuring “Save the Tracks.”

Nice looking fan site

I was mucking around looking for some pretty images for some new wallpapers. Anyone who knows me knows that anime usually graces my screen. I was looking for something a little different and was tired of the old Angelina Jolie pics I have. Instead I stumbled across JohnnyDeppWeb.com. It’s pretty and well done, so I thought I’d spread the word. It’s also not as… teen-beat magazine-esque as many other fansites I’ve seen. I’m all for rational fandom.

I really liked this piece from Aaron Schwartz’s weblog.

I find that copyright law and its overlap with patent law and trademark rules etc to be really interesting, and this piece of suggested lawsuits make some really neat points. Don’t take my word for it, go check out Saving Steamboat Roy on your own.
